Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease
Rubber doesn’t fail all at once — it dries out, stiffens, and shrinks slowly over years of heat cycles and UV exposure until door seals start leaking, windows develop wind noise, and trunk seals stop doing their job. This is the compound Honda has used at the factory and in dealership service for decades to address exactly that.
Shin-Etsu silicone grease is a pure silicone-based compound formulated specifically for rubber and plastic. Applied to weatherstripping, door seals, trunk seals, window channels, sunroof tracks, and hood seals, it conditions the rubber, restores pliability, and creates a tighter contact seal between mating surfaces. It won’t attract dirt, won’t damage paint or plastics, and won’t wash out. Made in Japan.
On cars this age, a single tube applied properly can bring tired, brittle seals back to life — quieter on the highway, drier in the rain, and tighter when the door closes.
