Description
Grade 5 titanium replacement for the factory valve cover ground bolt, designed in house and machined from solid bar with rolled threads.
Includes:
1x Hex Bolt, M6 x 1.0, 10mm body length, fully threaded, 10mm head
1x Flat Washer, M6, 11.5mm OD
Material: Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V)
Strength Equivalent: Class 9.8 steel (900 MPa tensile)
Weight: approximately 44% lighter than equivalent steel hardware
Installation: Use nickel anti-seize on the threads, not Tef-Gel. Tef-Gel is non-conductive and the ground path runs through the threads. Keep the ring terminal and washer faces clean and dry. Torque to the factory specification x 0.8.
Disclaimer: This product is intended for racing use only and is not an OEM replacement. Titanium fasteners have a higher fatigue rate than factory steel hardware and should be inspected regularly. Titanium bolts can back out without the use of a spring washer. Spring washers are not included to save weight, as these products are intended for racing use. With no spring washer taking up space, the bolt is 2mm shorter than the factory 12mm bolt, which saves further weight.
