Orifice Assembly — Exhaust Rocker Shaft
The exhaust rocker shaft orifice is a small but critical component in the B-series VTEC oiling system. Pressed into the cylinder head, it meters oil flow to the exhaust rocker shaft, maintaining the precise oil pressure required for VTEC engagement and consistent rocker arm lubrication. A missing, damaged, or incorrectly installed orifice will compromise VTEC function and accelerate wear on the rocker assembly.
Commonly lost during head rebuilds, porting work, or any procedure that involves removing the rocker shafts. Having a fresh factory unit on hand before reassembly is the correct approach — this is not a part you want to source after the head is already back together.
