Spoon developed these silicone radiator hoses specifically for the EK9, replacing the factory rubber lines that harden, crack, and eventually fail under years of heat cycling. Silicone holds up where rubber gives out — it resists the high coolant temperatures of a hard-driven B16B far better than the original equipment, and it won’t degrade or balloon under pressure the way aged rubber does.
Beyond durability, the upgrade is about reliability you can trust on track and on the street. A hose failure is one of the fastest ways to end a session or strand a car, and the factory hoses are usually well past their service life on any EK9 still on the road today. These are built to Spoon’s own specifications, with a proper fit to the OEM routing and clamps.
